Picking up where we left off from last week. Made a few mistakes with the Top 10 rankings. The mistakes were quickly corrected and we moved on. I never have taken Rankings serious it’s all done out of fun!
But this week right here I have done my homework and study the overall statistics of high school teams in the valley.
He is the criteria for the rankings in the city. This question was asked last week. How do I base my rankings?
- Overall Wins and losses
- Competition Level, outside of League!
- In League, wins and losses
- Margin of victory In the conference
Respect is something that’s earn it will never be given!
Here is the Top 10 rankings for week 7 in the city of Las Vegas:
Top 10 In The 4 A Division:
- BISHOP GORMAN 16-4
- CLARK 17-3
- CANYON SPRINGS 14-1
- CORONADO 11-8
- FOOTHILL 14-6
- LIBERTY 11-8
- DESERT OASIS 17-7
- CENTENNIAL 13-6
- FAITH LUTHERAN 15-4
- LAS VEGAS 14-5
When you look at the top three teams Bishop Gorman, Clark high, and Canyon Springs in the 4A division. They have been consistent throughout the whole year.
In the Southeast League, Coronado Foothill, and Liberty all have one loss in League this week. These teams will battle to the end. There’s not much separation in these teams when you see them play.
Centennial has found a way to be consistent. At this present moment they are 6-1 in League. Desert Oasis is still a tough out for any team in the city. They are in a league with two of the top teams in the valley.
Faith Lutheran pulls up the # 9 spot. The lost to Palo Verde still hurts them in the rankings. Las Vegas high come in at the # 10 spot they have a tough match up against Canyon Springs on Wednesday.
Top 10 In The 3A, 2A COMBINATION DIVISION:
- DEMOCRACY PREP 19-2
- MOJAVE 13-5
- CHAPARRAL 10-6
- CHEYENNE 9-8
- DESERT PINES 11-8
- BOULDER CITY 14-6
- DEL SOL 11-11
- LAKE MEAD 10-9
- NEEDLES 14-6
- SUNRISE MOUNTAIN 9-9
The #1 spot is Democracy Prep they are consistent. They are one of the best teams in the valley regardless of division. Mojave comes in at the #2 spot with a big-time win over their rival. They are undefeated in League Play.
#3 Chaparral is undefeated in League (6-0) and they will continue to be a tough out for teams in their league. #4 Cheyenne, will bounce back from the loss to Mojave. And will be a contender in their league, when it’s all said and done.
#5 Desert Pines will continue to be a problem. they will battle for their lead title. Boulder City, Del Sol will continue to fight to make their names respectable. Lake Mead, Needles, and Sunrise Mountain are all fighting for playoff spots.
