For every finish product, it has to be a starting point. There is young talent throughout this country that’s being groomed and fashioned; not for the short term, but for the long-term success.
There’s a lot of different moving parts when it comes to the world of high school and grassroots basketball. Becoming successful is a personal choice and commitment. So as I continue to highlight players, I definitely have a deep desire to create a platform for names that are not familiar on the national level.
2023 5’11 150 pound guard Keishawn Hampton of Norcross, Georgia is a young player that is determined to create a platform for himself in Georgia. Let’s take sometime and look at his skill set.
Mr. Hampton’s shooting ability is eye catching. His Perimeter skills allows him to keep defenders honest. He has a very good looking shot with a smooth release.
Hampton’s mid range pull-up shot looks good for a young guard in his age category. This is extremely important for young players to understand who are 6 feet and under.
He’s a solid ball handler but will need to improve in this area for the next level. Hampton shows good mobility and court awareness. He shows the ability to drive the lane and kick out to open shooters. If he’s going to be and affective guard for the college level, he will need to incorporate this to his skill set.
On the defensive side of the ball, Hampton will need to show more aggression, and a consistent effort to defend at a high level.
Overall, Keishawn has the potential to be a very good player; he’s definitely a player to keep your eye on!
