The landscape of high school basketball have dealt with many adversities up to this point. Multiple high-level tournaments have been canceled this year. Elite caliber programs are looking for games to fill this season. Player’s and Coaches are still adjusting to the COVID-19 Protocol. This year for the class of 2021 everyone will have to lend a helping hand with our student athletes.
I find it extremely important to give our readers authentic and original content on players from around the country. There is one player I have been watching for the last three years. 2021 6’1 point guard AJ Neal of West Oak Academy out of Florida.
AJ has develop leadership skills that are translating into his game. He’s a confident floor leader that brings a scoring punch. AJ has matured as a point guard; he plays under control and distributes with more consistency. A poised point guard that has the ability to manage games in crucial situations. Last season the 6’1 point guard average 13.4 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
AJ is sneaky athletic versatile and handles the ball very well in transition. His mid- range game has improved. Last season he shot 45% from the field and was 40% on three pointers. AJ has good size for a point guard and can finish at all three levels through contact.
Defensively AJ must impose his will on the game. He’s a tough point guard that has the ability to affect games from a defensive standpoint. Overall Mr Neal is definitely a player to watch this season.
At this current moment AJ is being recruited by Denver, Arkansas Little Rock, Auburn, Florida international, Florida State, and James Madison just to name a few.
