Let’s inject some new energy as we continue to survey the landscape of high school and grassroots basketball from around the country. What makes this game so intriguing is fresh faces and new rising talent.
I have traveled my fair share observing some of the best talent that has graced the hardwood floors at the high school level. One thing I have come to understand is that eyes don’t lie! Over the last few years, many have become lost in rankings and highlight videos.
I don’t consider myself to be a talent evaluator or a scout, I just have a good feel for the game! I like to give my readers original and authentic content that gives more clarity to talent outside of their regions.
Let’s take a look at 2023 6-1, 160-pound point guard Jaland Lowe from Missouri City, TX. Lowe definitely has not reached his full potential and his body is still developing.
I am impressed with Jaland in transition. He demonstrates good dribble penetration and body control as a finisher. He shows the ability to switch gears, and is able to get teammates involved.
Overall, Jaland has good mobility and demonstrates good lateral movement. Jaland is a lefty that can step out on the perimeter and knock down shot. He has solid ball skills and is an unselfish versatile guard.
He demonstrates the ability to be an extension of a coach on the floor; his basketball IQ is above average! He is definitely a player you should keep your eyes on!
At the current moment, Jaland Lowe has received an offer from Texas State University!
