Around The Country In 2 Minutes, Next Up: Jalen Duren “The Man Child”

As we continue to provide quality content for our readers, I find joy talking about players who impose their will on the opposition. You will be hard press to find a player on the high school level that has the ability to dominate the low post area.

2022 6’10 225 pound Jalen Duren of Montverde Academy, (Fl) is definitely a physical specimen. Duren has been blessed with talent from the basketball Gods. He is a man among boys when he steps on the floor. His interior presents can be very intimidating for the opposition.

We are not going to focus just on the obvious things that Duren can do well. I Believe that his passing skills are extremely underrated for his size, he also has good court vision with the ability to make the right pass at the right time. Duren is an elite athletic big who has good mobility and lateral movement.

In the low post, Duren demonstrates good foot work with the ability to be explosive off the bounce. He is strong and aggressive at attacking the rim and finishing through contact!

I am impressed with Duren’s transitional skills. He operates at a high level in the low post, showing the ability to shoot over either shoulder with a jump hook. Duren is limited as a face up shooter but shows flashes of having the ability to improve in that area.

Jalen is a defensive nightmare and also a glass cleaner! He is a terrific rebounder down low; understanding how to use his body in the lane. Jalen has active hands on defense, creating steals and transitional buckets. Overall, 247Sports has Jalen ranked Nationally as the number 2 player in the class of 2022.

Currently Jalen has been offered by Alabama, Auburn, Georgetown, Howard, Michigan, Penn State, Kentucky, and Duke just to name a few.
