The class of 2022 is loaded with a lot of guards who have the ability to play at the next level. There is no shortage of talent in this class. College coaches will have their choice at what type of players fit their program’s needs.

2022 6’6” shooting guard Jalen Hood-Schifino of Montverde Academy (FL), is definitely moving up on many College Coaches recruitment boards. The talented and versatile guard recently de-committed from Pittsburgh on 07/27/2020.

Jalen Hood-Schifino

I had an opportunity to watch Jalen play last weekend. His all-around game has definitely improved. Jalen is a high major player with a high basketball IQ. Many individuals who cover high school basketball definitely know Jalen has grown a few inches.

At 6’6”, Jalen has good size and versatility for a guard. He keeps defenders honest because he can knock down the mid range shot. Mr. Hood-Schifino drives and finishes plays in traffic. Jalen plays with pace and is under control; he also executes very well in the half court.

This young man is smooth in transition, he attacks and distributes the ball at a high-level. His offensive game is emerging beyond the arc. Jalen is becoming a confident floor leader. This is the first time I had an opportunity to see Jalen playing this year. I definitely like what I see!

At the current moment, 24/7 sports has Jalen rank 33rd Nationally. He is currently being recruited by Pittsburgh, Florida, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Illinois just to name a few.
