As we continue to survey the landscape of high school basketball around the country, Many young men & women have been affected by not being able to play the game they love. It is extremely important for every student athlete to understand the importance of maximizing their online presence.
The language has not changed since the pandemic started. Every student must be proactive in there recruiting process.
Potential recruits should be told that; creating an online platform is important, and creating a school list should be a priority. Learning the process of emailing coaches should also be a priority for potential recruits! This is just a little food for thought!
2021 6’8 210 pound Kendall Smith of Muskegon, Michigan is definitely a good looking prospect that shows a good skill set. Smith has size, length, and moves well without the ball.
I was impressed with Smith’s video; he shows the ability to recover when he’s out of position on the defensive side. Smith has good court awareness with a basketball IQ to complement his ability on defense.
At 6’8, Smith has the ability to stretch the floor with his Shooting ability. He demonstrates good mobility with a soft touch around the rim. Oppositions must respect Smith’s perimeter skills; he has the ability to step outside and knock down shots.
Smith is not super athletic, but he’s definitely a well-rounded player. His interior post moves allow him to score from multiple positions.
Kendall can score from the high post with his back to the basket, he is also fundamental on the block with good foot work. I was impressed with his ability to demonstrate good body control as a finisher.
As I continue to tell people, there are a lot of good players around this country that are flying under the radar. Overall, Kendall is a good looking prospect that will make a program very happy!
