Last season’s match up between Patrick Baldwin and Leon Bond was an opportunity for basketball junkies around the country to become familiar with a rising sophomore.

2022 6’5 180 pound small forward Leon Bond out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a player to watch. His recruitment is moving in the right direction. The Midwest schools are definitely familiar with Mr Bond. He’s an athletic wing with a high motor. Let’s take a look at Leon’s skill set and his overall improvement from last year to now.

Leon Bond

Bond has the ability to be an affective contributor to a program at the next level. He shows good athleticism! Bond has the ability to get out in transition and finish above the rim. Bond’s Ball skills have improved greatly. He is demonstrating the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket aggressively.

Last season, Bond’s mid range shot was called into question. I am extremely impressed with the improvement of his Perimeter skills this season. He is demonstrating good foot work and the ability to play with his back to the basket!

On the defensive side of the ball Leon at times gets out of position but, shows the ability to recover and block shots. Leon is a tall & long wing that can contest shots. I would like to see him become more disruptive on the defensive side of the ball.

Overall, Leon Bond’s skillset and recruitment is on the uptick! Per 247Sports, Bond is the nation’s number 51 ranked small forward in the class of 2022.

He has been offered by Eastern Michigan, St. Thomas, and Wisconsin Milwaukee. He has interest from Butler, Indiana, UNLV, Western Michigan, Marquette, and Belmont.
