As we prepare ourselves to cover some of the best High School basketball in the country. I received a call telling me to check out a player from Georgia. I have come to understand it’s impossible to cover every talented player in the nation.
I don’t consider myself a scout are talent evaluator. My job is to give our readers authentic and original content on players with potential for the next level. If anyone is going to cover high school basketball, he or she must invest time on each player.
Let’s take a look at 2023 6’0 guard Chase Clemmons of Atlanta Georgia. He attend (Mount Vernon) a small presbyterian school. As a freshman Chase average 13.8 points, 3.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals pre game. He has the ability to score in a variety of ways. I must make it clear this young man has the ability to compete at a high-level. He’s a big fish in a small pond!
Chase is a lead guard that can push the ball in transition. His Basketball IQ is above average. You will be hard-pressed to find a 15-year-old who delivers off the dribble with their pull up game. Chase ability to weave through defenders and finished at the rim is above average.
Chase can flat out shoot the ball; his three point range extends beyond the arc. He plays with pace; keeping defenders honest because of his shooting ability. A confident ball handler with good court vision. It is definitely a lot to like about this young prospect!
At the current moment Chase has received interest from: Middle Tennessee, Georgia, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, and Kennesaw State.
