The 5 Tournament Brings Pro Basketball Back To Las Vegas

This week is an exciting time for basketball fans. After four months of no professional basketball being played due to Covid-19, fans can once again become sports “couch potatoes” watching live televised basketball games.

The NBA restart will give fans a chance to fall back in love with their favorite team, as scrimmages are beginning in Orlando, Florida from inside the NBA Bubble. Also, the WNBA will be kicking off their 24th season from inside the Bubble at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Furthermore, fans will get an extra dose of basketball competition with The 5 Tournament Basketball Invitational.

The 5 Pro Basketball Invitational will feature former NBA players representing their team cities in a rivalry 3-on-3 format tournament live from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament will take place from July 19th to July 29th, with no fans in attendance. However, games will be broadcasted live on Dish, Direct TV and FITE.

The six 3-on-3 basketball teams include: Miami 5 led by NBA Champion Mario Chalmers; Toronto 5 featuring Carlos Arroyo; Chicago 5 led by former number one overall pick Eddy Curry; Texas 5 with seven-time NBA All-Star Joe Johnson; New York 5 with DerMarr Johnson; and Sacramento 5 who are stacked with shooters like Mike Bibby and Dohntay Jones.

Miami’s Mario Chalmers showed doubters that he still has game, as he torched the Chicago 5 scoring 50 points leading his team to victory.

Fan’s can get more information on the tournament by following The 5 Tournament on Instagram @the5tournament.
